Everyone Has a Role

Making accessible parking available for those who truly need it is about ensuring independence for people with mobility disabilities. That is a group which many of us or our loved ones may join at any time—by accident, medical condition, or aging. It’s a civil right that’s difficult to comprehend until you’ve had to cancel a trip or wait hours to get back to your vehicle because of an inconsiderate driver who has blocked your way.

Making parking accessible and eliminating fraudulent use of disabled placards is a responsibility shared by planners, lawmakers, medical professionals, public agencies, citizen groups, and parking professionals.
